It's a geometric sequence of common ratio 2; so each term in this sequence is multiplied by 2 to reach the following one:

3x2=6

6x2=12

12x2=24

24x2=48

48x2=96

And so on...

We can see it from another way if we write this

sequence (denoted by Un later) in terms of n; where

its first term U0=3 and its common ratio r-2:

Un=U0xr^(n)

The following term is the 5th then:

U5=U0x^(5)=3*2^(5)=96

hope it helps you

St 3,6,12,24 a is the 1st term

6/3=2

12/6=2

24/12=2

so,r=2

nth term=ar^(n-1)

=3*2^5=96
