Given :  PQ || XY

XZ is 8 cm, ZP is 2 cm, YZ is 16 cm,

To Find  : ZQ

Solution:

PQ || XY

=> ∠X = ∠P  & ∠Y = ∠Q  ( corresponding angles)

∠Z = ∠Z is common

Hence Δ PQZ ≈ Δ XYZ  (AAA)

Similar Triangles: corresponding angles are congruent and the corresponding sides are proportional

=>  ZP/XZ = ZQ/YZ

=>  2 / 8  =  ZQ / 16

=> 1/ 4 =  ZQ / 16

=> 4 = ZQ

ZQ = 4cm
