Both Assertion and Reason are correct but reason is not the correct explanation of assertion.

  • Plants do not have a proper excretory organ for removing the unwanted or waste products. Waste products are removed from the plants but in lesser quantity and also at slower rate.
  • There are some of different processes through which plants remove their waste products.
  • Major waste products include oxygen, water and carbon dioxide and other waste products include natural rubber, resins, raphides (calcium-carbonate crystals) resins and gums etc. that are produced by plants.
  • Rubber and raphides are solid waste, CO_{2} and O_{2} are the gaseous products while essential oils include liquid waste products.
  • Hence, Plants do store some of the waste products in certain areas which include rubber and raphides that are solid waste products.
