As we know that :

On x-axis y = 0

(1,-3)_____m_____(x, 0)____n_____(4,5)

Let, the ratio m:n

According to the question :

0 = [ (m×5 + n×-3)/m+n]

=> 5m = 3n

=> m/n = 3/5

So, the ratio in which the line segment joining the given points will be 3:5
