Q.33 A physical quantity P is related to four observables a, b, c and d as follows:-
P= a bP / Vcd
The percentage errors of measurement in a, b, c and d are 1%, 3%, 4% and 2% respectively. What is
the percentage error in the quantity P? If the value of P calculated using given relation turns out to
be 3.367 to what value should the result be rounded off?

Answer:

Given that, P:9,16,29,54,103,...

and R:2,12,36,80,150,252,...

t

n

for sequence P is a2

n−1

+bn+c

i.e t

n

=a2

n−1

+bn+c

Putting n=1 for first term

∴a+b+c=t

1

=9

and t

n

for R is given by t

n

=A+Bn+Cn

2

+Dn

2

Putting n=1 for the first term we get

∴A+B+C+D=t

1

=2

Therefore, (a+b+c)(A+B+C+D=2)=9×2=18
