the magnitude of the resultant(R) of any two vectors(P,Q) inclined at an angle θ

can be given by the formula R²=(P²+Q²+2PQcosθ)

and the direction can be given by tanθ=Qsinθ/(P+Qcosθ)

hope it helps!!
