GIVEN :

  • Trapezium whose parallel side are 25 cm and 13 cm and other sides are 15 cm and 15 cm.

TO FIND :

  • Area of trapazium = ?

SOLUTION :

In ∆ABC :-

  • a = 15 cm
  • b = 15 cm
  • c = 15 cm

\large{\boxed{\bf S =  \dfrac{a + b + c}{2}}}

\sf S =  \dfrac{15 + 15 + 12}{2}

\sf S =  \dfrac{42}{2}

\pink{\sf S =  21}

Area of ∆ABC = \sf \sqrt{s(s - a)\:(s - b)\:(s - c)}

\sf \sqrt{21(21 - 15)\:(21 - 15)\:(21 - 12)}

\sf 6 \times 3\sqrt{21}

\sf 18\sqrt{21}

Area = 1/2 × base × height

➨ 18√21 = 1/2 × 12 × AF

AF = 3√21

Area of parallelogram EDBA = B × h

13 × 3√21

39√21

Area of trapazium = Area of ∆ABC + Area of parallelogram EDBA

18√21 × 39√21

➨ 57√21

➨ 57 × 4.5

256.5 cm²

Therefore, area of trapazium is 256.5 cm².
