Given :

  • Perimeter of a square is 20 cm.

 \:

To Find :

  • the area of the square.

 \:

Formula Used :

  • \sf{\fbox{ {Perimeter}_{(Square)} = 4 × side }}

  • \sf{\fbox{ {Area}_{(Square)} = side × side }}

 \:

Solution :

First of all, we have to find the side of the square. Now,

Let the side of the square be x.

\sf{ Perimeter = side × 4 }

\sf{ 20 = x × 4 }

\sf{ \large{\cancel{\frac{20}{4}}} \small = x }

\sf{ x = 5 }

Hence, the side of the square is 5cm.

Now, we can easily find out the area of the square by the formula :- Area = side × side.

Let's do it!!

\sf{Area = side × side}

\sf{Area = 5 × 5}

\sf{Area = 25}

Hence, the area of the square is 25cm².
