Aim-to show that stem conducts water and dissolved minerals from roots to other parts of the plant.
materials required-glass and red watercolor, water, a plant with all of its vegetative parts with leaves, oil
Procedure-1.Add water to the glass
2.add red water colour
3.now put the plant with leaves just above the water
4.now just drop 10-16 drop of oil such that it forms a layer
5.OBSERVE THE PLANT TILL 4-5 DAYS
OBSERVATION-THE RED COLOUR IS SEEN IN THE MID RIB, STEMS AND VEINS OF THE PLANTS,ABSORBTION OF WATER IS BEING PREVENTED BY THE LAYER OF OIL
