Q.7 Rajeev observers everyday some cattle grazing in the field near his house. But one thing makes him
fascinated that always there animals are chewing even when they are not eating grasses.
Now answer the following questions based on the above
situation.
(a) Why do these animals not chew only at the time of eating?
(b) What is the process known as and what is the biological reason behind it?
(c) Can we also perform this? Give reason in favour of your answer .

a) These animals nit chew only a tiny the time of eating because they must chew their food twice in order to digest it properly.

b) The process is known as rumination. The reason behind it is that the act of repetitive thinking is similar to the regurgitation of cud by the ruminant animals i.e cow.

c) No we cannot perform this.
