➡A and B together can dig a pond in 30 days

➡A & B 1 day work =

  \implies\frac{1}{30}

➡They worked together for 12 days

➡work done in 12 Day

  \implies\frac{12}{30}  =  \frac{2}{5}

Remaining work =

 \implies 1 - \frac{2}{5} =  \frac{3}{5}

➡A alone can dig the pond in 40 days

➡A's 1 day work =

  \implies\frac{1}{40}

➡A will take further days

 \implies \frac{3}{5}    \div \frac{1}{40}

 \implies \mathtt{24 \:  days}
