Q.9. An observer 1.68 m tall is 30 m away from a tower. The angle of elevation of the top of the tower from
his eyes is 30°. What is the height of the tower?​

In triangle ABE

tan30 = AE/BE

1/3 = AE/30

root 3 = 30/AE

AE =30/root 3 × root 3/root 3

= 30×root 3/3

AE = 10 root 3

NOW,

AD = AE +ED

= (10 root 3 + 1.68 ) m

AD = 19m

Therefore the answer is 19m
