Answer:

option ( C ) - 40 , 48 and 56

Step-by-step explanation:

let the three numbers be x ,

x + 8  and

x  + 16

sum of these numbers is 144

=> x + ( x + 8 ) + ( x + 16 )  = 144

=> x + x + 8 + x + 16 = 144

=> 3x + 24 = 144

=> 3x = 144 - 24 = 120

=> x = 120 / 3 = 40

x + 8 = 40 + 8 = 48

x + 16 = 40 + 16 =  56

so the three numbers are 40 , 48 and 56

40,48 and 56

Step-by-step explanation:

let the number be x,x+8,x+16

x + x + 8+ x +16= 144

3x+24=144

3x=144-24

3x=120

x=120/3

x=40

required numbers are

x=40

x+8(40+8)

x=48

x+16(40+16)

x=56
