15

H(o) = -2 cm

f = +10 cm

u = -15 cm

v = unknown

Nature = unknown

H(i) = unknown

Using the lens formula,

1/v - 1/u = 1/f

1/v - (-1/15) = 1/10

1/v = 1/10 - 1/15

1/v = 1/30

v = +30 cm

=> Image is formed at a distance of 30 cm at the back of the lens.

Magnification:

M = v/u = +30/-15 = -2

=> Magnification of the image formed is -2.

Also,

H(i)/H(o) = M

H(i)/-2 = -2

H(i) = 4cm

=> Size of the image is 4cm

Thus concluding,

Position = +30 cm

Nature = virtual ( magnification is -ve )

Size = 4cm = Enlarged ( magnification > 1 )
