Q. A boy bought some storybooks costing 48 each and some picture books costing Rs 32 each, spending Rs 912 in all. If the number of picture books he bought is two- fifths of the number of storybooks, how many of each did he buy?​

Let, the number of story book and picture book be x and y, respectively.

y = 2x/5. ....(1)

and 48x + 32y = 912

or, 48x + 64x/5 = 912

or, 240x+64x = 4560

or, 304x = 4560

or, x = 15

from (1)-

y = 2×15/5 = 6

Hence, Number of story book and picture book are 15 and 6, respectively...
