Given :- Planet X has mass 2 times and Diameter 4 times that of the earth.

To find :- Acceleration due to gravity of planet X

Solution:-

g = Gm/R^2

Mass is 2 times

Hence mass is 2M

Diameter 4 times => Radius 4 times

Hence Radius = 4R

g'= G(2M)/(4R)^2

g'= (GM/R^2) 2/16

g'= (g) (2/16)

g'= 0.125 g

0.125 time of acceleration due to gravity of earth

g'= 0.125 * 10= 1.25 m/s^2

The acceleration due to gravity of planet X is 1.25 times that of earth.
