Verbs are of three kinds :-

  • Transitive Verbs
  • Intransitive Verbs
  • Linking Verbs

Transitive Verbs- The verb that needs and objectives to complete the sense of sentence is called Transitive Verbs.

Example :- Jack reads.

Intransitive Verbs- Intransitive Verbs do not need an object to complete their meaning. Such words have complete sense even without an object. Such verbs are called Intransitive Verbs.

Example - The bell is ringing.

Linking Verbs- They do not take an object to make their sense complete. In such cases compliment is added at the end of a sentence to make its sense complete. A verb that joins a verb with its complement is calleda Linking Verbs.

Example - The bill sounds beneficials.
