last term = 505
a = 1
d= 8-1 = 7
an = a + (n-1)d
505 = 1 + (n-1) 7
7n = 511
n = 73
mid term = 73/2
= 36.5
therefore 37th term is the mid term
a37 = a+36d
1 + 36× 7
= 253
