The spinal cord is a bundle of nerve fibers, no thicker than the human thumb, that links the brain with the rest of the body. The spinal cord is protected by the vertebral column, and together with the brain it comprises the central nervous system.

Here's ur Answer Mate:-

The Brain is the highest coordinating unit of our body.

•It is protected by a thick bony covering called Cranium(skull). We can say that brain is located within a bony box. The cranium has three layers called meninges.

They have gaps between them which contains cerebrospinal fluid which acts as a shock absorber thus protecting the brain from mild injuries.

This meninges protect the spinal cord also.

Hope it helps uh!
