Answer:

p+q=3950

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : q is 450 more than p. 60% of p is 60 more than 45% of q.

To find : Sum of p and q ?

Solution :

According to question,

q is 450 more than p

i.e. q=450+p ....(1)

60% of p is 60 more than 45% of q.

i.e. 60\%p=60+45\%q

0.6p=60+0.45q

p=\frac{60+0.45q}{0.6} ....(2)

Substitute the value of p in (1),

q=450+\frac{60+0.45q}{0.6}

0.6q=450\times 0.6+60+0.45q

0.6q=270+60+0.45q

0.15q=330

q=\frac{330}{0.15}

q=2200

Substitute in equation (1),

2200=450+p

p=2200-450

p=1750

The value of p=1750 and q=2200.

The sum of p and q is p+q=1750+2200=3950.

Therefore, p+q=3950
