Q.Name the term used for :
(i) Solid directly formed from gas ?
(ii) Gas directly formed from the solid ?

(i) The term used for the direct formation of Solid from gas is Sublimation. It doesn't go through the liquid stage.

(ii) The term for the direct formation of gas from solid is known as Deposition.

This too doesn't go through the liquid stage.Both are the transitional phases of particular objects.

The terms used for are as belows :

(I) Solid directly formed from gas is deposition .
Eg . Ice frosts

(II) Gas directly formed from the solid is Sublimation .
Eg. Napthalene balls ...

You will notice these things in the nature .
There are many more examples like , iodine , ammonium chloride etc .

Sublimation is the process of changing solid into gas directly without changing into liquid state or vice versa .
