total no. of student in first year = 40,36,463 + 72,14, 587 = 1,12,51,050

total no. of student on second year = 1,12,51, 050 + 6,31,421 = 1,18,82,471

total no. of student in two years = 1,12,51,050 +1,18,82,471 = 2,31,33,521

now \: the \: total \: number \: of \: students \\ appeared \: in \: last \: year \: is \\ 4036463(p) + 7214587(f) = 11251050 \\ p = pass \: f = failed \\  \\ this \: year \: they \: told \: that \: students \:  \\ were \: appeared \: more \: number \: then \:  \\ last \: year \\ i.e   \: 11251050(last) + (11251050 + 631421)this \\  = 23133521 \\

This much students were appeared in both years.
