Mango is a true fruit while apple is a false fruit due to the following reasons :

- When a particular fruit is produced by the process of fertilisation from the ovary of the flower and it doesn't contains any other part of the plant then it's termed as true fruit

- Mango is a true fruit because it undergoes fertilisation and develops from the ripened ovary.

- While apple is a false fruit because it's produced without fertilisation and it's fleshy part is extracted from the part of the stem , i.e , swollen receptacle.
