\Large{\underline{\underline{\mathfrak{\bf{Question}}}}}

Verify whether the following are zeroes of the polynomial

★ p(x) = (x + 1)(x-2) = 0,x= -1,2

\Large{\underline{\underline{\mathfrak{\bf{Solution}}}}}

\Large{\underline{\mathfrak{\bf{\pink{Given}}}}}

  • Equation, p(x) = (x+1)(x-2) = 0
  • Zeroes are -1 and 2

\Large{\underline{\mathfrak{\bf{\pink{Prove}}}}}

  • -1 and 2 are zeroes of this equation

\Large{\underline{\underline{\mathfrak{\bf{Explanation}}}}}

we know,

If -1 and 2 are zeroes of this equation ,

so, all value of X = -1, 2 exits this equation

And,

Those value are not exits this equation ,

so , we can say that this value of x is not zeroes of this equation

Now check ,

Case(1):-

  • when , x = -1,

Keep value of x in this equation,

➥ p(-1) = (-1+1).(-1-2) = 0

➥ p(-1) = (0).(-3) =0

➥ p(-1) = 0 = 0

L.H.S. = R.H.S.

this value exits this equation,

so we can say that , this is zeroes of this equation,

Case(2):-

  • when, x = 2

Keep value of x in this equation,

➥ p(2) = (2+1).(2-2) =0

➥p(2) = (3).0 = 0

➥p(2) = 0 = 0

L.H.S. = R.H.S.

this value also exits this equation

so we can also say that , this is zeroes of this equation,

Hence:-

  • x = -1, 2 are zeroes of this equation
