Momentum of an object is defined as the product of its mass and velocity.

If an object of mass 'm' is in motion with a velocity 'v' , then it's momentum is given as -

Momentum (p) = mass(m) × velocity (v).

I.e, momentum (p) = mass(m) × velocity (v)

p = mv

It's S.I unit is :

p= mv

= kg × m/s

= kg m/s
