Subject: About the improper distribution of grains in the local ration shops
Dear sir:
I am Riya Chaurasiya of Teliarganj. The government is putting every effort to make food grains available, specially to the poor sections like people below poverty. And I praise the efforts of the Food Corporation of India (FCI). But there are some people who are trying to put a black spot on the good working of FCI.
These days in our town, there is an improper distribution of grains in the local ration shops. They seem to be involved in malpractices, as the town people exclaim. Actually, the food grains which are provided to these ration shops to distribute to the people under public distribution system (PDS) is being sold in the markets and the money then earned is enjoyed by these ration owners. People who can't afford to buy grains at the market price are starving for wheat and rice.
This is sad to mention that some people of the town who tried to raise their interest against the malpractice were shut their mouth with money. Therefore, all those who don't dare to raise their interest are starving. Government has introduced PDS for the betterment of its citizens but this facility is not being provided to the needy at the ground level.
Therefore, through your daily I would like to appeal to the concerned authorities to look into the matter and take prompt and serious measures regarding the problem. Also, I appeal to punish the corrupt people in the PDS cycle functioning. Thanking you in anticipation.
Yours sincerely,
