Given :  Q1 = 62, Q3=86 & coefficient of skewness =0.5

To Find : Median

Solution:

Q1  =  62

Median Q2 =  ?

Q3=86

coefficient of skewness =0.5

coefficient skewness  =  (Q1   + Q3  - 2Q2)/(Q3 - Q1)

=> 0.5 = ( 62 + 86 - 2Q2)/(86 - 62)

=> 0.5 = ( 148 - 2Q2)/(24)

=> 12 = 148 - 2Q2

=> 2Q2 = 136

=> Q2 = 68

Median is 68

if  Mean < median  -ve  coefficient skewness

if Mean > Median + ve coeeficient skewness
