Answer:1200 tiles required

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of each tile = 40 cm^2

=1600 cm^2

length of floor=16m= 16×100 cm

= 1600 cm

width of floor= 12 m = 12×100 cm

=1200 cm

No of tiles required = 1600×1200/1600

=1200

Cost of each tile = 4.5 rs

cost of 1200 tiles= 1200 × 4.5

=5400

Answer:

Area of the tiles = 40× 40 = 1600 cm

Area of floor = 16 × 12 = 192 m = 19200 CM

Tiles needed to cover the floor = 19200 ÷ 1600 = 12

cost of covering the floor = 12 × 4.50
