Q1 Radha tied a stone with a string of 14 cm long. She started moving this stone in circular
path.She completed 10 rounds in 5 seconds. Calculate distance and displacement covered by stone
when it covers half of the round, three quarters of the round and one full round.Also calculate the
velocity of moving stone.

Answer:

Explanation:

1) We know,

radius of circular path,r=14 cm = 0.14 m

Distance covered in 10 rounds

=10*2\pi*r=10*2*\frac{22}{7}*0.14=8.8m

Time Taken ,t = 5s

Hence,

Speed =\frac{Distance}{time}=\frac{8.8}{5}=1.76\:m/s

Hence, velocity at any instant of moving stone is 1.76 m/s

2) a)

For Half of the round:

Distance ,d = 8.8/2=4.4m

Displacement, s= 2*r=2*0.14=0.28 m

For Three quarters of the round :

Distance,d = 3*1/4*8.8=6.6m

Displacement,

s=\sqrt{r^2+r^2}=\sqrt{2}r=0.14\sqrt{2}m

For one full round ,

Distance, D = circumference = 8.8 m

Displacement , s = 0 (since initial and final points are same)
