Q1. Rakesh went to the market to buy potatoes. He found a shopkeeper selling 2
kg for

Rs.30. He bought 15 kg potatoes from him and gave the shopkeeper Rs. 500 note.

Shopkeeper gave a balance of Rs. 350 to Rakesh. On the way back to home, he realised that
the shopkeeper has returned him more money. Rakesh went back to the shop and returned
the extra amount.

a) What was the cost of 15kg potatoes?

b) What value is exhibited by Rakesh's act? ​

Answer:

If cost of one kg potato is rs 30

Then 15 kg potato = 15 × 30 = Rs 450

In rakesh's act 350 rs are given to him by the shopkeeper.

Therefore, 500 - 450 = 50 Rs

but shopkeeper gave Rs 350

Therefore, 350 - 50 = Rs 300

Rakesh should return Rs 300 back to the shopkeeper.
