There was once a woman who was a great devotee of Neptune, the sea god. She lived near the sea and
daily went the sea and to the beach to pray. One day she started singing a song in praise of Neptune
Her song was highly appealing and Neptune was very pleased with her. As a reward, he sent a cow for
the woman. The woman was very happy and started singing another song. Just as she finished, another
cow appeared on the beach. Now the woman continued to sing song one after another till the beach
was full of cows. The woman looked around and found a huge stone in front of her. She thought it she
lifted the stone and threw it into the sea, she could make place for one more cow. So she put in all her
might and lifted the stone. Then she hurled it into the sea with all her strength. But at that moment,
Neptune was emerging from the sea to bless her. The stone hit the god hard on his head. He was very
angry with the woman and returned to the sea taking all the cows with him.
