Explanation:

Q1:- Yes it is true that sublimation does not require heating . Sublimation is a process of conversion of solid into vapor state and vapour into solid state without coming in liquid state. ... And this happens not because of heat it is a natural phenomenon as it gains the heat from the surface .

Q2. :- Yes boiling is considered as bulk phenomenon because total molecules (including interior molecules along with surface molecules) are involved during boiling of any liquid. ... Whereas evaporation is a surface phenomenon. Only the particles on the surface gain enough energy to get converted into vapour state.

Answer:

Yes it is true that sublimation does not require heating . Sublimation is a process of conversion of solid into vapor state and vapour into solid state without coming in liquid state. In this process no heating is required , we can justify this statement by :When we keep napthalene balls in Wollen clothes to protect them from bacterias then after sometime we could see that there is no napthalene ball let in that woollen cloth . This happens because the napthalene balls goes under the process of sublimation by directly converting from solid to vapour state. And this happens not because of heat it is a natural phenomenon as it gains the heat from the surface .

Boiling is a bulk phenomenon. Particles of the bulk of the liquid gain enough energy to change to vapour state. The entire bulk of liquid and all the molecules including the interior and the surface gain energy to change to vapour state. The heat energy is supplied from the bottom of the liquid. Therefore the heat energy goes to the entire bulk of liquid and starts boiling. Whereas evaporation is a surface phenomenon. Only the particles on the surface gain enough energy to get converted into vapour state. A small fraction of particles at the surface gain energy and break away from the force of attraction of the other particles and changes to vapour state.
