Q1. The following purchase were made during the year 2019 at a total cost of Rs. 4,00,000 by a business house,
having three departments:
Dept X: 4,000 units, Dept Y: 8,000 units, Dept Z: 9,600 units.
Stocks on 015 January, 2019: Dept X: 480 units, Dept Y: 320 units, Dept Z. 608 units.
Sales during the year were: Dept X: 4,080 units @ Rs. 24 each, Dept Y: 7,680units @ Rs. 27 each,
Dept Z. 9,984 units @ Rs. 30 each.
The rate of gross profit is the same in each case. Total Department expenses of Rs 48,000 were to be
apportioned to various Departments in the ratio of 1:2.2.
Calculate rate of gross profit on sales made by the departments.​
