What is a Rational Number?

 \longrightarrow The numbers which are in the form of \frac{p}{q} and q ≠ 0, is called a Rational Number. Example:-

1 ,  \frac{ - 2}{3} etc.

What is Equivalent Fraction?

 \longrightarrow The fraction which has different, but if we reduce the fraction, the denominator will come same.

Example:-  \frac{1}{2} ,  \frac{2}{4} ,  \frac{3}{6} ,  \frac{4}{8} ,  \frac{5}{10}

Thus, finding the equivalent fraction to  \frac{1}{2} will be  \frac{28}{56} as  \frac{28 \div 28}{56 \div 28}  =  \frac{1}{2}

Thus, the equivalent fraction of  \frac{1}{2} will be  \frac{28}{56}

 \implies option d

The rational number 1/2 is equivalent to : 28/56

\huge\fbox{\sf\green{Explanation}}

We know that rational numbers are the numbers expressed in p/q where p and q are integers and q is not equal to 0.

Equivalent rationals are the rationals which have the same core values but are written in different forms.

In simple words they are the numbers that when simplified give same value.

Eg : \sf\pink{\frac{2}{8} and \frac{4}{16}when\: simplified\: both  \:give :}

\longrightarrow{\tt\pink{\frac{1}{4}}}

So , we can say that the two rationals being \tt{\frac{2}{8}and \frac{4}{16}} are equivalent.

The same we have followed for the given question.

21/56 if simplified gives 0.375 which is not equal to 1/2

-21/56 simplified gives -0.375 which is not equal to 1/2

21/8 when simplified gives 3/1 which is not equal to 1/2

But 28/56 when simplified gives 1/2

Hence it is our answer.
