Q1)A trivalent element has three electrons in its valence shell. It shares three electrons with three neighboring silicon atoms in the lattice, the fourth silicon atom demands an electron but the trivalent atom has no more electron to share. This creates a void in lattice which we call it has hole.

Q2)Ions are formed by the addition of electrons to, or the removal of electrons from, neutral atoms or molecules or other ions; by combination of ions with other particles; or by rupture of a covalent bond between two atoms in such a way that both of the electrons of the bond are left in association with one of the formerly bonded atoms

Q3)A monatomic ion is an ion consisting of exactly one atom. If an ion contains more than one atom, even if these are of the same element, it is called a polyatomic ion. For example, calcium carbonate consists of the monatomic ion Ca²⁺ and the polyatomic ion CO₃²⁻.

Q4)Ammonium ion

Polyatomic ions with a positive 1 charge do occur, but the main one you'll encounter and need to know is the ammonium ion. Remember, because it is a cation, when it reacts and forms a compound, it is cited first in the chemical formula.
