  1. Plate tectonics is a scientific theory describing the large-scale motion of seven large plates and the movements of a larger number of smaller plates of the Earth's lithosphere, since tectonic processes began on Earth between 3.3 and 3.5 billion years ago.
  2. Convergent are the destructive plate boundaries where one plate subducted beneath the other due to difference in density. Divergent boundaries are those where plates move apart from each other and new lithosphere is created that's why it is also known as constructive plate boundaries.
  3. The Himalayas are a great climatic barrier. They save our country from the cold and dry winds of Central Asia, It also prevents the rain-laden monsoon winds of Indian Ocean from crossing over to Northern countries and causes heavy rain-fall in the Northern India.
