Ring of iron blade heated before fixing it into handle of a tool because on heating ring becomes slightly larger in size, therefore it expand and handle fits easily into it.

Answer:

It is expanded because iron is a metal and easily expands on heating. It expands and easily slips on to the handle. Then it contracts and come into its original size.It is done because when we are doing any work with the tool, it expands and if any space is not left, it will cut of the handle.
