Answer:

It was highly difficult to Indians to get slected in the Bfitish Indian civil service. brotish Indian civil service was founded by lord dalhousie. Civil services were one of the most luxurious government official and government executive's position which was reserved only to population of British. As these services were reserved only for British even though Indians attend and get selected in the exam they were not appointed because the power of appointing the civil servants was in the hands of british. so indians were fearing To take up British Indian civil services.

presidencies - cities which were under the direct control of British empire . 3 presidencies wre present during British rule and. they were Madras, Mumbai and Calcutta.

British needed a well trained army to safeguard their Forts, trading centers and vested political intrests.
