1. Indian desert lies in the western margins of the aravali hills.

It is covered with sand dunes called barchans.

This region receives very low rainfall below 150mm per year.

It has arid climate with low vegetation cover.

Luni is the only large river in this region.

2. BHANGAR :-
1. it is a highland made up of old alluvium.
2. it is not suitable for cultivation.
3. it is less fertile because of the deposition of alluvium.
4. in pujab it is known as dhaya.

KHADAR
​1. it is a lowland made up of old alluvium.
2. Intensive agriculture practised here.
3. it is more fertile as it is renewed every year.
4.in punjab it is known as bet.

BHABARThe rivers, after descending from the mountains deposit pebbles in a narrow belt.This narrow belt is about 8 to 16 km.All the stream disappear in bhabar range.​​TERAISouth of the bhabar belt, the streams and the rivers re-emerge.It creates a wet swampy & marshy region.This is a thickly forested region full of wildlife.
