Answer:

Let SP of 1 kg rice = Rs. 1

SP of 80 kg rice = Rs. 80

CP of 80 kg rice = 80 × (90/100) = Rs. 72

Rice got free on 80 kg = 80/20 = 4 kg

Total rice = 80 + 4 = 84 kg

Total SP of total rice = Rs. 84 kg.

Profit = 84 – 72 = Rs. 12

∴ Profit percentage = [12/72] × 100 = \(16\frac{2}{3}\%\)

Answer:

16.66%

Step-by-step explanation:

Let Rs x be the price of 1kg of rice,.i.e.,

1kg = Rs x

Then, 80kg = Rs 80x

Given, 80kg rice bought at discount of 10%.

Then, CP = 80x - (80x * 10/100) = 72x

And also given, 1kg rice offered free on the purchase of every 20kg rice

Then, total rice a shopkeeper got is 84 ( 80 + 4) kg.

Therefore, SP = Rs 84x

Now, gain = SP - CP (as SP >CP)

= Rs ( 84x - 72x)

= Rs 12x

Therefore, profit % = 100 * gain /CP

= 100 * 12x / 72x = 16.66%
