Assertion (A):

Tropical Equatorial forests are also called Tropical Evergreen Forest.

The equatorial forests occur in the regions of the equator and the tropics. Due to extensive occurrence of rain and the non- existence of any specific dry season, the trees found here are evergreen. It is because they do shed their leaves completely together as usually found in other forest regions.

Reason (R):

All trees in these forests are green in colour.

All the trees in the tropical rainforests are not green in colour. They are simply called evergreen due to the absence of mass shedding of dry leaves. There is no aridness and the forest never stays barren.

Conclusion:

The required correct answer is Option A: Both A and R are true but R is not the correct explanation of A.

The Assertion (A) is true but the Reason (R) cannot be applied as the correct explanation for the assertion as it is false.
