Given :-

The distance between the chair and the plane mirror is 2m.

The distance between the man and the plane mirror is 5m.

To find :-

The distance between the man and the image of the plane mirror.

Solution :-

We know that, the object distance is always equal to the image distance in the case of a plane mirror.

So, the image formed of the chair on the other side of the plane mirror is at the distance of 2 metres from the mirror.

Now, the distance between the man and the image of the chair = distance between the man and the plane mirror + the distance between the plane mirror and the image.

So, the final answer is :- 5 + 2 = 7 m.
