(x + 3) (x -5) can be written as (x+3)(x+[-5])

we will use the identity

(x+a)(x+b) = x²+(a+b)x+ab

(x+3)(x+[-5]) = x²+(3+[-5])x+3*-5

                      = x²-2x-15

\sf\large\blue{final\:answer\:is\:(x+3)(x+[-5]) \:=\:[tex]x^{²}-2x-15}[/tex]
