Answer:

It was raining heavily outside, I was in my room when I heard a loud crash of thunder that made me jump. The lights flickered and then shut off completely. It was now pitch black, and I groaned in ignorance when I realized that I had not gone shopping for candles or supplies. Of course, I wasn't expecting the rain to be this bad. It was never this bad. All of the bad weather seemed to roll right over us, but now it was giving us a beating.

I got up out of bed and reached for my phone on the dresser. I would just have to resort to using my flashlight.  The Bad thing about that was that it would drain my battery.

I turned on the phone but  I was met with the outline of a battery and a red exclamation point. My phone was dead. Of course...

I looked out my window and tried to peer through the opaque sheet of rain. My last resort was to run over to my neighbor's house and ask her if I could borrow a candle. She usually had candles anyway, her house was always full of lit candles burning weird essences under weird pictures like she was in some kind of cult or something.

I didn't like her. No one on my block liked her. She was an old woman, but she was weird. Weird in the sense that she would just sit and stare at someone, weird in the sense that you felt like she would try and kidnap you and use you for a sacrifice to her demonic god or something.

But I wasn't going to sit here in the dark. Not that I was scared... I mean...I was a little bit.

I tripped through the darkness all the way to my closet and struggled to find my raincoat. My fingers finally brushed the silky fabric.  I grabbed it off the hanger and threw it on then I hurried downstairs, practically tripping the entire way down.

It was time to face my creepy neighbor.
