Q2 Give reason for the following:
(a) Air exhibits nature of fluidity but stone does not.
(b) It is difficult to break iron rod than piece of chalk.
(c) Smell of perfume spreads rapidly in room.​

Answer:

a) a fluid is something that can flow and doesn't have a fixed shape. And attraction between molecules is lesser than that in solids. So as the air doesn't have a fixed shape and the attraction between particles are very less so it exhibit nature of fluidity.

b) First of all we know that iron is a metal abd chalk is a non metal. Attraction between molecular particles in metal is more than that in non metal. And iron is more hard than chalk. So it is difficult to break iron than piece of chalk.
