Q2 : In Step 1, there is a spherical mosambi and paper cylinder with same radius and height. In Step 2, the peel is cut in small equal petals. Each petal is further cut in two parts from the centre and pasted on the cylinder. In step 3, the cylinder is opened to form a rectangle. If the diameter of the mosambi is 7 cm, what will be the dimensions of the empty part of the rectangle?

Step-by-step explanation:

When breadth becomes the curved surface:

Height=22 cm

2πr=10

∴r=π5 cm

Volume =πr2h=ππ22522=175cm3

(ii) When length becomes the curved surface:

Height=10 cm

2πr=22

∴r=27 cm

Volume =πr2h=π44910=385cm3

∴ Difference in 2 volumes =385−175=210cm3
