2. A red blood cell will swell and undergo hemolysis (burst) when placed in a hypotonic solution. When placed in a hypertonic solution, a red blood cell will lose water and undergo crenation (shrivel).

3.Membrane biogenesis is the process of formation of the biological membrane. It involves the synthesis of cell membranes with the help of proteins and lipids. Endoplasmic Reticulum is responsible for membrane biogenesis.
