GIVEN,

the selling price of machine= ₹55000, loss= ₹5000, depreciation= ₹12000

TO FIND,

the cost of the machine.

SOLUTION,

we know that SP= ₹55000,

here we can back-calculate the values

as we are said the depreciation is ₹12000,

hence the value before depreciation is,

= 12000 + 55000

solving,

= ₹67000

now the loss is ₹5000, so the amount before the loss is-

= 67000+5000

solving,

= ₹72000.

THE COST OF THE MACHINE ORIGINALLY IS ₹72000.
