Subject:  Increasing crimes against women in cities and villages

Sir:

I am writing to you to express my deep concern over increasing number of cases of crimes against women.  It is so shameful that when our country is marching towards prosperity and advancement, the barbaric acts against women are on the rise. According to statics issued by National Crime Bureau 2015 saw the registration of 3,27,394 cases under the head of Crimes against Women. There has been a marginal increase of 2.5%, however, in other sexual offences against women. Under the category of “assault on women with intent to outrage her modesty”, 2015 saw 84,222 cases being registered across the country.

These outrages against women have created a poor image of India among foreign countries. Millions of foreign tourists visit India every year; this has directly affected the tourism industry. There was nation wise outrage on the tragic incident of Nirbhay and Aasifa molestation cases. Though the offenders have been brought to justice, still crimes against women have not decreased.

I appeal to the government and the people to come together to fight violence against women. The Government must form special police cells to guard and watch women in the cities and villages round the clock.  The Government must also pass and implement more strict laws than the existing ones for the safety of women. I am hopeful that your esteemed daily will give space to my views.

Thanking you,

Yours truly,

ALOK.

Subject - Concern about violence in name of religion and caste.

Sir,

I went through an article published in your newspaper, about the rising levels of violence in the name of caste and religion. I was glad to see such an unbiased article against highly sensitive issue nowadays.

I, being a secular citizen and on grounds of humanity, is highly concerned about such ongoing violence, which seems common. A number of innocent lives are lost, Infront of government is a highly pathetic situation.

The ones living, too suffer. The worst part of the whole situation is that major sufferings are for a particular community.

To check such incidents, corrupt police officials and administrators should be immediately removed. Rather, they should be replaced with ones possessing humanity and kindness towards humans, irrespective of their caste and religion.

Through this article, I want to bring the seriousness of this issue in front of the public and immediate need to act by every individual. I also request people to remove any kind of hatred against different religions and see people as humans rather than as Hindu, Muslims, Dalits or Christians etc.

Thank you,

Yours truly,

Amita.
