1. The river Brahmaputra rises in Tibet, east of the Mansarowar lake from the Chemayungdung glacier.

2. It flows eastwards parallel to the Himalayas and on reaching Namcha Barwa (7757 m), it takes a sharp 'U' turn and enters India in Arunachal Pradesh through a gorge.
